Burj Khalifa (Burj Dubai)
Burj Dubai (which in Arabic means "Dubai Tower") is a skyscraper located in the Business Bay district of Dubai and is the tallest man-made structure ever built. Its construction began on September 21, 2004 and as of September 26, 2008, Burj Dubai had reached a height of 707 m (2,320 ft).
The Burj Dubai Tower was officially opened on January 4, 2010. Its total height is 828 meters (2,717 feet), that means more than 300 meters heigher than Tai-Pei of Taiwan (508 meters / 1,667 feet). The Burj Dubai Tower have a total of 160 floors: 49 for offices, 61 for apartments and 18 reserved for the hotel. The total cost for its building should be around $4,1 billion.
On the official launch ceremony Burj Dubai have been renamed Burj Khalifa in honour of the United Arabs Emirates' President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan.
